Historic Berlin-Mitte Gatehouse
Our dental practice is located in a former gatehouse (or “Torhaus” in German) in Berlin Mitte, which was built in 1836 as an entrance through the Berlin city wall (see picture). The building was designed by the famous architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
During the Second World War the gatehouse was destroyed and then demolished.
As part of the redevelopment of contemporary Berlin, the gatehouse was reconstructed by renowned architect Josef Paul Kleihues and completed in 1998.
